Wednesday night/ Thursday morning

Beautiful day at camp today. Woke to a smattering of rain which dissipated quickly. Afterwards the clouds rolled out and the sun came out. What a great day to be in the N GA mountains.

Today all the troop that did not go on the river trips will be doing the off-site portion of the Horsemanship MB.  Mr. Bower, our private photographer accompanied the girls and took pictures in the horses. Those pictures to follow.  The girls can back tired but smiling and said it was fun. No slow motion bus ride today, all the vehicles in good shape.

For the few girls still in camp, their afternoon classes began. Zoe knocked out the whole two hour class assignment of knots in 10 minutes at Pioneering Ang got released early.  Several leaders and Zoe then went to waterfront to watch/harass Sarah at sailing.  Have some pictures there.

But the big thrill that the off-site girls missed was the arrival of the life flight helicopter and Union County Fire vehicles. The youth got to see all the equipment and even sit in the helicopter. It was really a lot of fun.

The girls returned right at dinner time and ended up first in line. Great timing!!  Cameron Gaines left us after finishing her training and Mrs. Murphy and Mr. Butler came as replacements.  We all went to an amazing flag retirement ceremony at the amphitheatre, which was followed by and ice cream social for the OA members. Ling day, but DRY day and we were happy!

This morning we got up and went to the lake and jumped in for the polar Bear plunge.  INVIGORATING to say the least, but always a fun event.  Bit more light rain on the parade ground during flags before breakfast but beautiful day now.

Mr. Bowers pictures will be posted later.
