Monday/Tuesday at camp
Yesterday we did merit badge work then this a quiet evening without major activities
scheduled. The girls have met and spent time with some of the Florida troops. Several went to the waterfront and swam and checked out kayaks. Everyone has had a shower or two so far. No injuries or illnesses. They have figured out how to navigate the camp pretty well. They received an excellent campsite inspection score and most slept through last night's rain shower.
Today a few are off on the Nantahala river in rafts. I have been geocaching to help the girls earn Honor troop. Melinda, Matt and Cameron are in training classes today also. We have successfully constructed our gateway and organized a cracker barrel with the other girls in our site.
All in all I think they are enjoying their merit badge classes. I saw some nice leatherwork from Nikolia and Madeline. Several girls have done pottery and art. Tonight we have a theater under the stars and spoof merit badge. It is superhero ethics. Should be fun.
Danielle is really doing well at the rifle range. Working hard to qualify for the merit badge.
The girls are enjoying the snacks that were sent but I have also seen visits to the trading Post. We have had some rain today but no lightening so class sessions go on.
The girls are planning a group trip to the climbing area, as well as some knots and tree identification. All this to earn Honor troop. They are still very energized and focused. It's fun to watch.
